Savor local flavors at Ibiza’s Gastronomic Festival

Alison: We hunt down a local food festival, which closes tonight. This is the third year for the four-day festival, and I hope for future visitors, that it comes back for year five.

Each year, culinary specialties from other areas of Ibiza (and from Valencia, some merchants were coming to the festival using the ferry from the mainland) are featured.

There are booths lined up on the boardwalk, but the smoker with ribs (Luc: Is she talking about me again?) is what catches my attention (Luc: Alison, don’t forget the honey-covered almonds and pastries…). But then we see these heaping platters of seasoned octopus served with boiled potatoes. We decide to go for a small serving.

As you can see, there was not much left of our starter plate! The octopus was really tender, boiled and then sautéed in a light olive oil and sprinkled with hot smoked paprika.

After shot: Demolished "small" platter of paprika and olive-oil seasoned octopus and potatoes.
