Spain

What trip is complete without some shopping?  I say this in all honesty: shopping is a cultural experience.

Luc and Alison check into the Hotel Colón, in Barcelona, Spain. And are delighted to find they really do have a room with a view: the Plaça de la Seu and the la Seu itself, the beautiful Barcelona Cathedral.

Sights and sounds abound on a stroll down Barcelona’s celebrated La Rambla, followed by an amazing selection of fruits, meats, fish, cheeses, candies – and an indoor tapas bar at La Boqueria Market.

Luc and Alison continue their travel adventures in Barcelona, Spain, getting their first view of Plaça de Catalunya and Barcelona Cathedral (La Seu). Barcelona is a city of surprises. Truly magical. Avoid over-planning and let yourself be open to going wherever day, or as was often our case, the crazy labrinyth of streets in Barri Gothic, take you. That’s how we discovered many of the little jewels we came across.

Our vacation to Ibiza, Spain inspired this recipe for Le Lapin à la Moutarde (Mustard Rabbit). Foodies will recognize it as an example of classic French bistro cuisine, just like Boeuf Bourguignon or Soupe à l’Oignon (Onion Soup), which I will cover in later food posts. However, rabbit is a also classic Spanish dish, normally prepared in a stew with tomatoes, cloves, onions, thyme, tarragon and celery.
