What trip is complete without some shopping?  I say this in with no hesitation: travel shopping is cultural experience.

And no where is that more true than La Manual Alpargatera, which started as an espadrille workshop in the 1940s, just after the end of the Spanish Civil War. Each each customer is served with the utmost attention. So give yourself over to the expert eye of the sales ladies, and be patient, as time stands still in this dusky little shop.
